On nearly 6000 m2, and through several mediation spaces, embark on a spectacular journey to the Gallo-Roman era and travel back in time to discover why and how the Pont du Gard was built and has managed to withstand the test of time in such a state of preservation.
The cultural center offers you:
- large immersive museum with impressive scenography to learn everything about the history of the Pont du Gard and Roman way of life
- playful space for children to explore the themes of Roman culture, archaeology, water management, and sustainable development.
- cinema with a film about the history of the Pont du Gard from its construction to the present day.

This unique center in the world on the genius of Roman builders offers a journey through time, in several parts.
Dive into the heart of Roman civilization and discover its way of life and the importance of water in the city, which led to the need to build aqueducts throughout the empire.
As you progress through your visit, you will be able to admire the ingenuity of this civilization through a reconstruction of the colossal construction site. From the quarry where they extracted nearly 50,000 tons of stone, to the construction techniques of the canal and the arches, the staging shows the life on the construction site, the men and the trades, the know-how, the tools...
The visit concludes with the use and representation of the Pont du Gard over time, a way to understand its current state of preservation and to interpret all the traces and marks left by the craftsmen who have worked on the monument.

Learning while having fun, that's the motto of this place entirely dedicated to children aged 5 to 12! sometimes in the shoes of a Roman schoolboy, an aspiring archaeologist, or a hydrologist, your little ones will be able to understand the history of the Pont du Gard site through all the themes: Roman culture, science, nature, and the use of water.
A playful, educational, and invigorating universe on a child's scale.

A 12-minute documentary film "A Bridge Through Time" is shown in a cinema room on loop. As a prelude to discovering the site, it offers to trace through beautiful images and illustrations the 2000-year history of the Pont du Gard.
Young and old alike will be able to enjoy this session accessible to all ages and languages. You just need to let yourself be carried away by the choreography of the images!
