I only want to spend an hour on the site and I only want to see the bridge, what price will I pay?

Access to the bridge is free.
Parking costs €9 per vehicle, regardless of the number of people and the duration of the visit. Go to www.abonnement.pontdugard.fr to come back as many times as you like for 12 months. This fee gives access to the free visit of the monument and allows you to take advantage of the outdoor leisure facilities and services. We advise you to stay longer on the site to see the bridge and its surroundings and to discover its history in the museum and cinema or by taking a guided tour.

I am a hiker, do I have to pay?

Access to the bridge on foot is free.

Can we book a visit to the discovery areas?

Discover the whole history of the Nîmes aqueduct and the Pont du Gard by visiting the discovery areas located on the left bank. One of the largest Roman genius interpretation centers in France opens the doors to its 2,500 m2 Museum, the Ludo space for children aged 5 to 12, and its cinema with the projection of a 15-minute film. minutes on the history of the monument.

Can we book a guided tour?

How can I benefit from a reduced rate?

A reduced rate applies for admission to the discovery areas and guided tours for the following people: the unemployed and those on RSA (French Social Security) on presentation of proof.
For guided tours, young people under 18, students and people with disabilities also benefit from a reduced rate. For them, admission to the discovery areas is free.
There are preferential rates for groups, tourism professionals and CSEs.

Can I access the temporary exhibitions with my ticket?

The purchase of a ticket for the guided tour gives you access to the discovery areas (Museum, Cine, Ludo) and to the Temporary Exhibition.

There are no more tickets available online, how can I follow a guided tour?

When there is no more availability online, it means that all tickets are sold out and the tour is full. Please check the calendar to find another date or time.

Can I change the date and/or time of my ticket?

The purchase of a ticket is subject to a reservation of the date and time of the visit. These parameters cannot be modified once your purchase has been validated.  During your purchase, you will see a summary of your basket before validation. A confirmation email is sent as soon as your payment has been registered in order to confirm the information you have validated.
The general terms and conditions of sale which are submitted to you specify that the ticket is exclusively valid for the date and time indicated. 
We remind you that once your purchase has been confirmed, tickets cannot be exchanged, modified or refunded.

A personal problem has prevented me from using my tickets. Can I get a refund or reschedule my visit?

As stated in our general terms and conditions of sale, tickets are neither refundable nor exchangeable. Only compelling circumstances inherent to the operation of the Pont du Gard site can give rise to a refund.

I am having problems buying my ticket online. What can I do?

Annual subscription
We often come with family or friends, is there a subscription and what is the price?

We offer you the possibility to transform your parking payment into a subscription. Parking costs €9 per vehicle, regardless of the number of people and the length of your visit. Once you have paid for parking on the spot during your visit, go here within 14 days to register and transform your payment into a yearly subscription so that you can come back as many times as you like during 12 months with your family or friends.

This rate gives access to the free visit of the monument and allows you to take advantage of the outdoor leisure facilities and services.

How do I subscribe?

Once you have paid for the car park on site during your visit, go here within 14 days to register and transform your payment into an annual subscription so that you can come back as many times as you like during 12 months with your family or friends. All you have to do is create an account with your details, then enter your number plate or your parking ticket number.
Thanks to the recognition of your vehicle, you will have free access to the parking lots on the left and right banks for one year. The parking barrier will open automatically when you arrive and when you leave.

Since this year, you also have the possibility of subscribing before your visit to the Pont du Gard site. By entering your number plate and paying €9 before your visit, the car park barriers will open automatically on the day of your visit. This subscription is also valid for 1 year.

If I change my car (sale, rental, loan, etc.) can I change the number plate of my subscription?

No. The subscription is linked to a registration plate which cannot be changed during the subscription period. For a second vehicle or a change, you will have to take out a new subscription after paying on the spot, by logging on to www.abonnement.pontdugard.fr.

Organising your visit
How much time should I allow for my visit?

We recommend that you take your time to fully enjoy your visit to the site and the monument. Generally speaking, you should allow at least 1 hour and 30 minutes for a self-guided visit. For a more complete visit of the discovery areas and/or a guided tour, allow at least half a day and ideally the whole day to be able to stroll along the numerous footpaths, on the banks of the Gardon and in the garrigue.

What do you advise me to do when I visit the site?

We recommend that you ideally plan a full day on the site. You can start with a guided tour of the Pont du Gard, which will allow you to cross the third level of the monument, where water circulated in Roman times, in the company of a mediator. Then, a walk on the numerous footpaths, on the banks of the Gardon and in the garrigue will delight young and old. You can have lunch at the Bistrot on the left bank or at the restaurant Les Terrasses on the right bank. Then, we invite you to discover the discovery areas located on the left bank to learn more about the history of the Nîmes aqueduct, the Pont du Gard and the surrounding site: one of the largest interpretation centres of Roman engineering in France opens the doors of its 2,500 m2 museum, the Ludo area for children aged 5 to 12, and its cinema with the projection of a 15-minute film on the history of the monument.

How can I find out about the programme of activities and events on offer at the Pont du Gard on the day of my visit?

Our receptionists can advise you on the spot during your visit to the Pont du Gard site, but we recommend that you consult the agenda section, which will enable you to draw up an à la carte programme for the date of your choice.

Is there free access to the canal, is it difficult for people who have difficulty walking?

Access to the canal is regulated and can only be done within the framework of guided tours accompanied by a mediator from the Pont du Gard site.
Access to the canal is via a flight of approximately 80 steps.
The visit to the canal is not accessible to people with reduced mobility or pushchairs.
Please note: Animals are not allowed.

What payment methods are accepted?

The means of payment accepted at the cash desk are :
- Cash ;
- Bank cheques that can be cleared in France ;
- Bank cards ;
- Holiday vouchers.

How to avoid queues at the ticket office?

To reduce your waiting time at the ticket office, it is advisable to book your tickets for the guided tour and the discovery areas online here.

Can I cycle through the site?

The site is entirely pedestrianised, but cycling is allowed. You can leave your bike in the garage at the entrance. If you leave by the other side to follow your route, you must get off and walk your bike in hand.

Is it possible to visit the Pont du Gard site with my dog?

Dogs are allowed on the site outside and must be kept on a lead.
They are not allowed inside (museum, cinema, games room, bistro, restaurant, etc.)

Where are the ticket offices located on the site?

The ticket offices are located in the buildings on each side of the site and the car park pay stations are located in front of the buildings on each side.
The opening hours of the ticket offices and the discovery areas vary from month to month.

Where are the museum and the museum areas located?

The museum, Ludo and the cinema are located in the building on the left bank (in the commune of Vers Pont du Gard).

Are the cultural areas, guided tours and exhibitions available in English and/or other languages?

The museum, Ludo and the cinema are available in French, English, German and Spanish.
Guided tours are offered in French and some in English, when this is the case it is indicated on the online ticketing system when booking tickets.

Where can I withdraw money?

The nearest cash dispenser is located in Remoulins.

Where can I find toilets on the site?

On the left bank, there are toilets at each end of the building, as well as inside the building next to the museum entrance.
On the right bank, the toilets are located at the end of the building, and there are other toilets next to the restaurant Les Terrasses.

Is there a locker?

The Pont du Gard site does not have a locker or cloakroom.

Is there free WiFi at Pont du Gard?

Do you offer a catering service on the site?

Whether you want to have lunch in front of the monument, enjoy an ice cream, take a break or have an aperitif with friends, the Pont du Gard offers various catering options. The restaurant "Les Terrasses", on the right bank, invites you to savour simple, gourmet cuisine based on the finest products of our region, with its terrace facing the monument, in summer to extend your day until dusk and under the stars. Reservations are recommended at 04.66.63.91.37.
At any time of the day, in summer, the Pont du Gard site offers you a fast food outlet on each bank. Ideally located on the left bank next to the museum areas, the Bistro du Pont du Gard welcomes you in a spacious, friendly and contemporary setting and offers a lovely terrace cooled in summer by misters. You can have a quick lunch, with a wide choice of salads, sandwiches and desserts, take a refreshing break or enjoy an ice cream. Les Petites Terrasses, on the right bank, offers a selection of home-made delicacies to eat in or take away. It is a salad bar, sandwich shop and ice cream parlour all in one. Recipes created around the best local products, mostly organic and carefully selected: sandwiches, wraps, hot dishes, homemade ice cream and other delicacies.

Where can you picnic on the site?

Picnic tables are set up on each bank, near the bridge at the crossings on the left bank, opposite the Vieux Moulin or on the esplanade on the right bank, near the restaurant Les Terrasses. You can also picnic anywhere on the site in an environmentally friendly manner. Picnicking on the terraces of sales outlets such as the bistro is not permitted.

Is it possible to swim on the site and where are the beaches located on the site?

By municipal decree, swimming on the beach is at your own risk.

Is there a shop where I can take home a souvenir of my visit?

Would you like to stroll around, extend your visit, enjoy the atmosphere and all the Mediterranean scents? Our shop on the left bank offers you a selection of the best craft, cosmetic, gastronomic and decorative products typical of the South of France and its art of living. Children
How much does a visit cost for children?

The visit is very accessible for families: at the Pont du Gard, children under 18 years old in a family do not pay the entrance fee to the discovery areas (Museum, Cine, Ludo, Expo)! You can enjoy the site and all it has to offer!
Young people under 18 also benefit from reduced rates for the guided tour.

What activities are available for children?

The entire site is designed to be visited by families. Ludo is the key museum area for educational activities for young visitors aged 5 to 12. Designed to arouse curiosity and provoke questions, the Ludo area is a real playground for discovery. Thanks to a playful and active approach, it allows 5-12 year olds to set out on a quest for knowledge. Sense of observation, imagination and reflection will be called upon during this fascinating expedition!
Throughout the year, the Pont du Gard site offers families creative workshops inspired by the Romans and an unusual discovery of the multi-millennial monument. An enriching activity that will cultivate children's curiosity while entertaining them. Consult the programme here.

Can I visit the Pont du Gard site in a wheelchair?

Faithful to its mission of public service and always eager to offer the possibility to as many people as possible to discover the wonders of the site, the Pont du Gard makes every effort to facilitate the reception of people with reduced mobility. The Pont du Gard site has facilities that allow them to be welcomed and visited in optimal conditions. From the car parks, which are equipped with reserved spaces, to the ease of movement in the visitor walkways and the free provision of wheelchairs, the Pont du Gard is committed to ensuring accessibility to the monument, but also to the discovery areas offered by the site and most of the events and shows organised throughout the year. The various cultural areas and the restaurant "Les Terrasses" are equipped with lifts. How to come to the Pont du Gard site?

The Pont du Gard site is located in the South of France in the Gard department (30). In the centre of the Avignon, Montpellier and Marseille triangle, it benefits from an ideal geographical location in the heart of the Mediterranean Garrigue. Where are the car parks on the Pont du Gard site?

Supervised car parks are available on the left bank (commune of Vers Pont du Gard - 800 spaces) and on the right bank (commune of Remoulins - 600 spaces). They are located at the entrance to the site on each bank.

Can I park my motorbike during my visit?

You can park your motorbike in the car parks reserved for light vehicles on the left or right bank.

Can I park my motorhome during my visit?

You can park your motorhome in the car parks reserved for light vehicles on the left or right bank during your visit to the site. However, parking is not permitted at night. The emptying and evacuation of waste water from motorhomes is not allowed on the Pont du Gard site.

Where do I pay for parking?

You can pay for your car park at the automatic pay stations located in front of the reception buildings on the left and right banks. It is also possible to pay for your car park directly at the car park exit terminals.

You can contact the group reservations department by telephone on 04 66 37 51 10, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, or by e-mail: reservation@pontdugard.fr. We will then be able to draw up a visit programme with you and the corresponding reservations.

I lost an object during my visit, where do I go to find out more?

If you lose an object, we invite you to report it as soon as possible online at the following address: reservation@pontdugard.fr, giving :
- A description of the object ;
- The date and place of the loss ;
- Your contact details (address, email and telephone).

Requests will be processed from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. You will be contacted if your "property" is found and you will be offered different options for its recovery.
