Sound and light show: ‘War and Peace’, an original production by Groupe F and Robert COMBAS

Every summer evening, the Pont du Gard presents a new sound and light show that showcases the monument to its best advantage. Conceived by Groupe F in collaboration with the artist Robert Combas, this unique show combines visual projections and original music to offer visitors an immersive experience at the heart of the site. A summer event to enjoy with the whole family.

A colourful journey on a thousand-year-old screen

As night falls, the Bridge is transformed into a vast, 275-metre-long living tableau. For 2026, the video-mapping show draws inspiration from Figuration Libre and the world of Combas: his characters, lines and vibrant colours come to life on the ancient arches.

Blending Roman heritage with unbridled artistic energy, mythical scenes and bursts of life unfold one after another, accompanied by original music. An immersive visual and auditory journey, where the monument reinvents itself before the spectators’ eyes.

A magical break by the banks of the Gardon

An evening as gentle as a dream on the banks of the Gardon: as dusk falls, we settle down on the riverbank to enjoy the sunset and watch the bridge gradually light up. Then, once night has fallen, the show begins, offering an immersive experience where Combas’s art comes to life on a grand scale, under the stars, to be enjoyed with family or friends.

While we wait for the show...

A new lighting design for the monument by Christophe Berthonneau

groupe f

This innovative installation, in which the monument’s lighting is revitalised by video projections, recreates the cycle of the sun and the moon. Visitors will witness a true artistic interpretation of the Pont du Gard’s natural lighting during the day and at night. It is a fictional representation of the Earth’s rotation and its effects on natural light. 3D images of the Pont du Gard, created by digitising the monument, are used and projected directly onto its surface. The result is stunning and offers an unexpected view of the monument’s details and architecture.

Every evening at dusk, Duration: 20-minute loop, before and after the sound and light show
